A bit of a rant

So, here I am, sitting at a desk in the British Library. There are 31 journal issues in front of me from 10 different journals.

The details of these is not, in the overall scheme of things, important.

What is important, considering the careers advisory audience that I primarily write for, is the NIACE publication Adults Learning.

The Winter edition 2012 includes articles on:

• Supporting professionalism: see-saw politics and the paradox of deregulation
• Lingfield: the future of professionalism in FE
• The skills minister’s in-tray
• Ofsted re-inspected
• Localism: the changing picture for adult learning
• Skills that make a difference
• Things we didn’t learn at school
• More choice isn’t always better
• Richard: a blueprint for the future of apprenticeships?
• A European vision for adult education
• Making the jump

Not all of those titles are sufficiently indicative of the content to excite your curiosity but even if they were I can find nowhere for you to access these without either taking out a subscription yourself or finding a local college or public library that subscribes.

Ah well. Perhaps I’d better find something else to get on my high horse about!
