Abstract

This paper looks into the possibility of teaching university students special courses on a range of subjects that would reflect the reality of today’s information society.

We present a list and a brief content of these disciplines concerning information technology and information protection.

A focus is made on a positive outcome, which is likely to be achieved in teaching the Contemporary Innovation Technology courses in Russian universities. This course involves familiarizing students with the National Software Platform, semantic technologies, cloud computing, massively parallel computer platforms and contemporary mobile computer platforms.
